[ starving artist ]

My brother did such an amazing job on these paintings that I had to share them with all of you! He can take any famous face and turn it into a work of art! If anyone is interested in getting one for yourself let me know and he can work his magic and give you a great price! He's trying to earn some money this summer while he's at home during his break, (hence the title "starving artist") since he doesn't have enough time to get a regular job. The first two pictures are of Audrey Hepburn, the third is Bob Marley and lastly Jimi Hendrix in case you couldn't tell! :) Anyway enjoy and let me know if you're interested!

[ together again! ]

Our whole family is together again! Brad came home this Sunday for 4 weeks during his break. The crazy part is that we're all under the same roof, so there's not a lot of room right now but we're having fun anyway! Here are a couple of videos that I thought were fun, the first is of Angie and Brad. Ever since Brad came home Angie has wanted all of his attention. The second video is Angie trying to get everyone wet with a squirt bottle because she finally figured out how to use it! Enjoy!

[ memory tag ]

Here is a fun tag. Here are the rules:
1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

[ funny kid ]

I tried my hardest to get Angie to sing "Happy Birthday" to John the other day (for his birthday of course) and obviously kids rarely do what you want them to do when you have the camera in front of them! She's such a funny kid that I thought I would share it with everyone anyways! Let me explain the story behind the carrot in the video... she got that for Easter and it has 4 rabbits that came with it, one day Angie took all the rabbits out and was looking inside and saw the stitching. I was just playing around with it and turned it inside out and pretended like it was going to get her and for some reason Angie would laugh every time and moved away from it at the same time like it was going to get her! She's not scared of it, but just runs away or doesn't want to touch it when she sees it! I'm not sure why but it's really funny to watch! So this is yet another interesting fact about my funny kid! Apparently we're going to have to work on the birthday song later. :)

[ The ABC's of Angie ]

I recently finished this book of Angie on www.shutterfly.com and loved it so much that I wanted to show it to everyone! All you do is pick out the style and layout of the book and upload your pictures and add text and you're done! Quite a simple process, but the outcome is so impressive! Now I have a wonderful book of Angie to last a lifetime! Obviously the title is "The ABC's of Angie", so I came up with 2 adjectives for each letter that perfectly described her personality or something she likes. Then I found a picture to go with it and wrote a little blirp about it. John had a great idea to include the month and year of each picture so that I wouldn't forget how old she is, because let's face it, my memory isn't what it used to be! I only took a picture of the first two pages so as not to bore you! Hope you enjoy!

[ Happy 28th Birthday Johnny! ]

Yesterday was John's 28th birthday! We had a great dinner with my family and then had some great desserts! John's Mom brought over a lemon cake which is one of John's favorites and then Angie and I got him a Key Lime Pie, which Angie helped with blowing out the candle, and she's getting pretty good at it too!

It was kind of a mellow night, John took a little birthday snooze, as you can see he was pretty tired after a hard days work. We had dinner, ate cake and pie, opened some presents and then relaxed. Wednesday night we celebrated by going to a shooting range with our friends Bryan and TaNicka. We had fun shooting targets and brought them home with us to off our skills! :) As you can tell John is a natural- he rarely missed the target! However I was surprised that I didn't do too badly either, although you can't see my shots very well because I was using a smaller gun, so you'll just have to believe me! :) Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen to get some ice cream and chat for a while. Thanks Bryan and TaNicka for a fun time and great company!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE- WE LOVE YOU!

[ Independence Day ]

Our 4th of July celebration was a little mellow this year, but we kinda liked it that way. We went to the parade in downtown Kirkland, had a BBQ with some neighbors and friends, played frisbee, lit off some fireworks and watched the big firework displays in Bellevue and Seattle from our deck. John was able to get Thursday and Friday off of work, so it was fun to hang out together for a nice 4-day weekend. Also what made it even better was that John and I were able to house sit and dog sit for John's parents while there were out of town for the weekend, so we were able to have a couple nights to ourselves, except for the dogs of course! My parents where nice enough to put Angie to bed in the evenings and get her dressed and fed in the morning. Thanks Mom, Dad, Lauren and Lee. Here's a few pictures of us, the first two my sister took and worked her photoshop magic, I thought they were such cute pictures I had to show both! Happy Belated 4th Everyone!

[ Which disney princess am I? ]

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Mysterious and passionate. You are a survivor. Even though life has swung you some difficult situations you have a strong intuition that gets you through. Also, you have the capacity to sympathize and relate to a variety of different people.

So I saw this on my friend's blog and decided to see who I was, I'm a little surprised by the outcome but thought it would be fun to check out! Which princess are you?

[ chickens galore! ]

Here's the cartoon that inspired the creation of the "Chicken Soup" quilt!

I thought I would add a few pictures as a tribute to my Mom and Aunt Shirley for all their hard work on their "Chicken Soup" quilts. My Mom originally came up with the idea to make a quilt out of chicken fabric for us to use whenever we got sick. Well, my Aunt Shirley liked it so much that she thought she and my Mom should make a quilt for each person in the family as a Christmas gift, that's 9 chicken quilts! There are 4 kids in our family, Aunt Shirley has 4 kids and she had to have one for herself too of course after all that work! So needless-to-say my Mom and Aunt had their work cut out for them when she and my cousin Bethany came to visit us for a week and a half. They accomplished their task though which was to complete all the tops of the quilts before she had to go home. By the end of their stay though, we were all sick of chickens! They had chicken fabric as far as the eye can see, but somehow they managed to smile about it when I took their picture! Thanks Mom and Aunt Shirley for all your hard work! We look forward to seeing those quilts this Christmas!
